Job Description

Facilitator

Full Time | 40 hours per week
Location: Christchurch

Work with purpose. Support positive outcomes. Make a difference.

Tired of pushing paper and staring at spreadsheets? Swap the endless screen time for real human connection.

At LifeLinks, our Facilitators do meaningful work every day. We walk alongside tāngata whaikaha, disabled people, and their whānau to understand what matters to them, identify their goals, and help connect them with disability supports that can make a real difference in their lives.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is people-focused, organised, a good communicator, and interested in working in a role with real purpose.

You may already have experience in the disability, health, education, social services, administration, customer service, or community sector. Or you may bring lived experience, strong community knowledge, and transferable skills that would support you to grow into the role.

We are open to a range of backgrounds and experiences, and full training and support will be provided.

About Us

LifeLinks, a division of Compensation Advisory Services Ltd, delivers Disability Support Services to people aged 0–65 years who have intellectual, physical, sensory, or neurological disabilities, including those with complex or multiple needs.

We work across Canterbury, South Canterbury, and the West Coast, supporting tāngata whaikaha, disabled people, whānau, aiga, families, and caregivers to access information, understand options, and coordinate disability supports.

Our work is grounded in strong relationships, respectful communication, and a commitment to supporting people to live good lives in their communities.

About the Role

As a Facilitator, you will work alongside tāngata whaikaha and whānau to understand their strengths, needs, goals, and aspirations. You will help coordinate disability supports, connect people with services and community options, and ensure clear information is gathered and documented.

The role is varied, people-focused, and meaningful. It requires strong communication, good judgement, empathy, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Most of our team work from home or remotely, although some roles may require working from out office. You will need to be confident using computer systems and online platforms, and comfortable working independently while staying well connected to a supportive team.

This opportunity has come about through a mix of natural workforce movement, project work, and ongoing service needs.

We are fortunate to have good tenure across team, with many people choosing to stay and build their knowledge, relationships, and practice with LifeLinks over time.

The role includes:

  • Building respectful and positive relationships with tāngata whaikaha, whānau, providers, and community organisations
  • Talking with people and gathering information about what is important to them
  • Supporting people to identify goals and options
  • Coordinating disability supports and services
  • Connecting people with services, community supports, and other organisations
  • Using computer systems and online platforms confidently
  • Writing clear notes, reports, and documentation
  • Maintaining clear and accurate records
  • Managing your workload and priorities
  • Working independently while remaining connected to a supportive team

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking Expressions of Interest from motivated, compassionate, and community-minded people who:

  • Enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and communities
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully
  • Are organised and able to manage their workload independently
  • Are confident using computers and online systems
  • Can write clear notes, reports, and documentation
  • Are willing to learn and develop new skills
  • Bring warmth, curiosity, and good judgement to their work
  • Value inclusion, dignity, and respectful practice
  • Bring lived experience, community knowledge, or professional experience that would support the role
  • Hold a full New Zealand driver licence

Experience in disability, health, social services, administration, education, customer service, or community work may be helpful, but is not essential.

What matters most is that you are people-focused, willing to learn, and committed to supporting positive outcomes for tāngata whaikaha and whānau.

Full training and support will be provided to the successful applicant.
