Job Description
The Grant Writer position at Project Employ is a vital, part-time role focused on securing funding to support training and employment programmes for neurodiverse young adults. Because Project Employ is a registered New Zealand charity that does not receive government funding, it relies entirely on grants and donations to keep its life-changing initiatives running.
Role Overview & Flexibility
- Time Commitment: Approximately 8–10 hours per week. This can be structured as one to two days, or spread across the week.
- Structure: The role is a voluntary role.
- Location: You can work from home or choose to be based in the offices above their Takapuna training café, Flourish Café.
- Longevity: A long-term commitment is highly preferred to maintain strong consistency with funders.
Core Responsibilities
- Grant Management: Research potential funders, write persuasive proposals, manage the funding calendar, and handle reporting.
- Relationship Building: Maintain relationships with trust and foundation partners.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Preference for proven NZ non-profit grant writing experience, though strong transferable skills are considered.
- Skills & Values: Exceptional writing abilities, a passion for disability inclusion, and a clean police record.
