Wanted - someone who:
Wellington Community Fund (WCF) is a grantmaker investing just over $2 million each year in not-for-profit organisations across the Wellington region — from Ōtaki and the Kāpiti Coast to Porirua, Wellington, and the Hutt Valley. Governed by a Board of Trustees and guided by a clear set of values, we contribute to thriving communities now and for generations to come.
As Operations and Governance Coordinator, you'll be the organisational backbone of a small, collegial team. Your work spans Board secretariat support — producing packs, taking minutes, coordinating meetings — through to managing our records and filing systems, financial administration, grantmaking software, and CE support. You'll also be our Privacy Officer and triage incoming enquiries.
This is a varied role that rewards people who like to have their hands in many things at once. Strong digital skills are essential, as is an eye for detail and the ability to prioritise well. Experience in Board secretariat work is an advantage, as is familiarity with the community or not-for-profit sector. A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in principle and practice is important to us.
You'll need to work a minimum of two days from our Lambton Quay office, with flexibility beyond that. This role is 1FTE but we are open to negotiation regarding the right candidate working 0.8FTE.
Please email your CV and a covering letter to sue@wellingtoncommunityfund.org.nz by 9am on June 1.
We are a grant maker supporting communities across the Wellington region.
We distribute approximately $2 million in grants each year through two core grant streams: He Rau Aroha, which supports Māori-led groups advancing Māori aspirations for Mana Whenua and Taura Here, and General Grants, which fund social services supporting communities experiencing inequity, exclusion, and disadvantage.
Grant applications are assessed on an ongoing basis by our team, with larger funding decisions made by our Board. As part of a national network of community trusts, we work independently and in partnership to support positive, lasting outcomes for our region.
Our vision is: Thriving communities across the Wellington region.
Our purpose is: Investing in the communities of the Wellington region.
