Foundation Manager

·         Inaugural Role with Enduring Influence

·         Deliver Impact in STEM Education

·         Part-Time and Christchurch Based

Play a pivotal role in strengthening STEM education outcomes by helping bridge critical drop-off points in the learning pathway. This is a rare opportunity to step into an inaugural role where you will help shape both the strategy and its delivery.

Our Client

The Tait Foundation was established in 1994 and is inspired by the legacy of Sir Angus Tait, founder of Tait Electronics. Its core purpose is to support STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education initiatives across Christchurch and Canterbury through grant funding at all levels of the education system. The Foundation exists to help develop New Zealand’s next generation of STEM talent. It is focused on increasing participation in STEM subjects throughout the education pathway and building the bridges needed to move students into science, engineering and technology careers. Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will lead the Foundation while playing a key role in shaping its future direction and impact. You will act as a connector across the STEM ecosystem, building and maintaining partnerships with educators, schools, universities, community organisations and other key stakeholders to identify opportunities and amplify impact. You will help define and implement the Foundation’s strategic priorities by contributing to a clear long term vision while ensuring effective execution across all areas of the organisation. A key aspect of the role will be strengthening the Foundation’s profile by developing a compelling narrative that clearly articulates purpose, impact and the difference it is making in addressing STEM education challenges. You will also support robust and transparent grant-making processes and impact reporting enabling the Trustees to focus on governance and strategic oversight.

Your Skills and Experience

A natural relationship builder, you are skilled at developing trusted partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups and thrive in roles where you act as a connector between people, ideas and opportunities. You have strong analytical capability and commercial acumen with the ability to assess opportunities, allocate resources effectively and ensure efforts are aligned to meaningful outcomes. An effective communicator, you can translate complex ideas into engaging narratives which resonate with a range of audiences. Highly self-motivated and adaptable, you are also comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of driving initiatives forward.  Importantly, you will have a genuine interest in the power of education and can relate to young people with an appreciation of the factors that influence their engagement with STEM subjects.
