The Tindall Foundation is a private philanthropic family foundation working throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. We donate around $12 million annually to innovative, forward-thinking initiatives that support equity for children, young people and families; empower communities to lead positive change; and address climate change while enhancing biodiversity in Aotearoa.

We are seeking a capable, tech-savvy administrator to play a pivotal role in supporting the team in our philanthropic work.

 

About the role

This position sits at the heart of our donations operations, ensuring the systems, processes, and information that underpin our giving are accurate, reliable, and well-managed.  Working closely with the Donations Programme Manager and the wider team, your work will enable sound decision-making and support the team to achieve meaningful impact.

You will enjoy autonomy, significant variety, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully within a small, values-driven foundation.

Day to day you’ll:

  • Take ownership of the performance of our donations systems, ensuring they operate efficiently, managing system improvements, and coaching staff in their use
  • Be the go-to person for team IT support and liaise with our IT providers to resolve issues
  • Support Trustee and sub-committee meetings by coordinating meeting materials, papers, and taking minutes
  • Provide operational support including responding to phone and email enquires, maintaining workflow tools, and supporting events, workshops and meetings
  • Contribute to donations budgeting, monitoring, and financial administration
  • Work with donations data, preparing reports and providing insights
  • Manage and contribute to projects that improve systems, processes, and ways of working
  • Support office administration, pitching in as part of a small, collaborative team

About you

You are a highly skilled administrator who genuinely enjoys working with systems, IT, data, and processes — and you understand that in philanthropy, attention to detail really matters. You love building relationships and take pride in enabling others to do their best work.

You will bring:

  • Strong technical capability, particularly with CRM/CMS platforms and advanced Excel skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical, organised working style
  • A flexible, can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in across a range of tasks
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and calm
  • A passion for community, the environment, and an interest in philanthropy
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong sense of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information
