Support Staff – PRT (Permanent Relief Team)

Location: Mosgiel
Pay Rate: $25.08– $30.43 per hour (depending on qualifications) + PRT rate $2 per hour for all PRT hours worked

Availability: Guaranteed 40 hours per week. Must be available to work weekends and a variety of shifts

About the Role

This is a highly varied role supporting people with learning disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives in a safe, warm, and home‑like environment.

As a Permanent Relief Support Staff member, you’ll work across a range of shifts including days, afternoons, evenings, awake night shifts, split shifts, and weekends.

• Competitive pay: $25.08 – $30.43 per hour (based on qualifications)
• + $2.00 per hour PRT rate for all hours worked as a permanent relief duties
• + $2.00 per hour for awake night shifts (11:00pm – 7:00am)

• Supporting daily routines including shopping, meal preparation, household tasks
• Providing personal care respectfully and safely
• Supporting community activities and outings
• Encouraging independence, choice, and wellbeing
• Follow support plans and maintain accurate records

What you will bring

We’re looking for someone who is flexible, empathetic, and dependable, with a genuine passion for supporting others and demonstrates the following;

• A respectful, person-centred approach to providing support to people with learning disabilities.
• Good common sense and ability to work independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good computer skills

• Experience as a Support Worker / Caregiver / Healthcare Assistant NZ or Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 2 or higher)

What you must have

• Availability to work weekends and a variety of shifts
• Full New Zealand driver’s licence (essential)
• The right to work in New Zealand
