Regional Strategic Lead Family and Sexual Violence

This is a full-time or 0.8 FTE, fixed-term position through to 30 September 2027, with the potential to extend to 30 June 2028. It offers a unique opportunity to support Te Ohu Whangia-a-Maui Collective to develop and implement strategies that reduce family and sexual violence across our region.

We would prefer the person in this role to be based in Nelson. However, we recognise that the right person may already live and be well connected somewhere else across the rohe. If you are based elsewhere in Te Tau Ihu (Tasman or Marlborough), on the West Coast, or in Kaikōura, we are open to talking about how the role could work from where you are. Regular travel across the region and a regular presence in Nelson will be part of the role wherever you are based.

▪     Support the implementation of action plans based on the strategy developed.

▪     Recommend and implement programmes, and track progress and outcomes.

▪     Report on regional readiness and capability in responding to family and sexual violence.

▪     Engage and develop key relationships locally and nationally.

▪     Understands Te Aorerekura, the National Strategy to Eliminate Family Violence and Sexual Violence.

▪     Gives effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the way they work.

▪     Demonstrates strong leadership and relationship-building skills.

▪     Excels in data analysis and strategic reporting including outcome measures.

▪     Is self-motivated and shows initiative.

▪     In-depth knowledge of family and sexual violence response models.

▪     Strong Commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

▪     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

▪     Strong analytical and strategic thinking.
