Wellington Free Ambulance’s vision is to be a trusted and reliable ambulance service that provides excellence in emergency response and connected services to move our communities to better health.

We’re the only emergency ambulance service for Greater Wellington and Wairarapa and proud of the place we hold in our communities, and the high-quality care that our people deliver every day.  As well as providing emergency ambulance services, Wellington Free Ambulance also provides a Patient Transfer Service that transports patients to and from scheduled healthcare appointments, a Clinical Communications Centre answering 111 calls, and Event Medical support to a huge number of community, sporting and festival events. We also teach our communities lifesaving CPR skills through The Lloyd Morrison Foundation Heartbeat Programme.

Wellington Free Ambulance has been described as having a boutique feel due to the specific region we serve.  Our region covers an area from Cook Strait in the south to just north of Waikanae around Peka Peka on the Kāpiti Coast. In the Wairarapa, our area goes as far north as Mt Bruce. In total, around 500,000 people call our region home. About the role

Wellington Free Ambulance is an iconic charitable organisation providing vital emergency ambulance services across Greater Wellington and Wairarapa. We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Individual Giving Fundraiser to help grow our donor community and generate the income that ensures services continue to be free of charge.

This is a hands-on role for a fundraiser who loves great storytelling, strategic thinking and delivering results.

You’ll take ownership of our individual giving activity focusing on direct mail and regular giving. You’ll manage campaigns end-to-end, from planning and audience selection through to creative development, delivery and analysis.

You’ll use powerful impact stories to inspire people to give, while developing meaningful donor journeys that ensure everyone who supports Wellington Free Ambulance feels valued, informed and connected to the difference they are making.

As an active member of our Fundraising and Communications team, you’ll contribute to the annual fundraising plan and play an important role in achieving our income and financial goals.

You’ll bring:

  • 3-5 years proven experience fundraising – preferably in individual giving fundraising, including direct mail and regular giving.
  • Strong storytelling, copywriting and donor communication skills.
  • Experience managing fundraising campaigns from concept to evaluation.
  • A strategic, data-informed approach to growing and retaining donors.
  • An understanding of how digital, online and written communications work together across the donor journey.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Energy, creativity and a genuine passion for making a difference through fundraising.
