Trails for Trees; General Event Assistants (Volunteering)

Job Description

EcoMatter’s Trails for Trees event is being held at Arataki Visitor Centre on Sunday 6 September.
Trails for Trees is a fun family day out for father’s day. It’s also a celebration of our new Flat White Ride map, and an opportunity to check out Beveridge track and make an entry into the Healthy Cities Challenge. There are lots of prizes up for grabs, and every entry supports the planting of a native tree.
We are looking for volunteers to help set up and pack down, as well as to provide general help during the event itself.
Following directions of the Event Co-ordinator, you will be setting up ezy-ups, tables and chairs. During the event you could be supporting attendees to make smoothies using a smoothie bike, to decorate their bikes with paint pens and ribbons, or to take photos and enter the challenge. If you have some experience cycling in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland it’s a big plus! But it’s not a requirement for this role.
Requirements:
Able to follow instructions. Physically capable of carrying things, setting up and taking down event furniture. Friendly and sociable, you will be confident talking with event attendees.
Time commitment:
Sunday 6 September.
From 9.30am - 3pm. If you need to leave early that’s okay - let us know.
Free coffee and sausage sizzle for volunteers.
