Help us bring a brand-new pathway for rangatahi to life.
Springboard is seeking an exceptional Programme Lead Tutor to establish and lead Taumata Ake, our new 26-week employment, education and training programme for rangatahi aged 15-24 who have become disconnected from school, training or work. This is not a traditional classroom role. It combines trusted relationships, structured learning, practical experiences, work readiness, qualifications, driver licensing support and individual pathway planning.
About the Role
You will lead cohorts of approximately 12-15 rangatahi through a practical, strengths-based programme delivered primarily Tuesday to Thursday, 9.00am-3.30pm, from Springboard's Dome Valley site. You will create a culture of belonging, high expectations and real progress, while working closely with our wellbeing team, practical trainers, employers, training providers and whanau.

You're practical, grounded, and able to build trust while holding accountability. You understand that meaningful change takes consistency and genuine relationships.

Who we are looking for
You may come from teaching, alternative education, youth development, employment preparation, trades training or social services. More important than one particular qualification is your ability to engage young people who may not have experienced success in traditional settings.
Experience teaching, training, mentoring or coaching rangatahi, including those facing complex barriers.
Strong facilitation, behaviour-management, planning and relationship-building skills.
A practical, culturally responsive and trauma-aware approach that combines warmth with challenge.
Confidence working across classroom, workshop, farm, cafe, community and workplace environments.
Strong organisation, communication and record-keeping skills.
