This is an exciting fixed-term opportunity to support some of the Mental Health Foundation's key fundraising activities during our busiest time of year. Working closely with fundraisers, volunteers, workplaces and community groups, you'll help create positive experiences that inspire people to raise funds and support mental health and wellbeing across Aotearoa. 

The Role 

As our Events & Engagement Coordinator, you'll support the delivery of community fundraising initiatives and volunteer programmes, helping participants feel connected, supported and equipped to succeed. 

From engaging with participants in marathon events and Christmas gift wrapping programmes to supporting community fundraisers and volunteers, you'll play a key role in ensuring everyone who chooses to support MHF has a positive and rewarding experience.  

This role reports to the Fundraising Manager and has no direct reports. This is a fixed-term contract from October to December 2026.  

What you will do 

In this role, you will: 

  • Support and steward fundraisers and volunteers, helping them feel motivated, informed and appreciated throughout their fundraising journey.  

  • Coordinate engagement for community fundraising activities, including marathon events, Christmas gift wrapping and supporter-led initiatives.  

  • Respond to enquiries and provide excellent supporter service, ensuring participants have the tools and information they need.  

  • Assist with event planning and delivery, including event administration, volunteer coordination and event-day support.  

  • Recruit and support volunteers to help deliver successful fundraising activities. 

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting, ensuring high-quality data and stewardship tracking. 

  • Work collaboratively across the fundraising team to deliver exceptional experiences for supporters, donors and volunteers. 

You'll bring: 

  • Experience in fundraising, volunteer coordination, event coordination, project administration or a similar support role.  

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence building relationships by phone, email and in person. 

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.  

  • Experience using Salesforce or another CRM system. 

  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support a team 

  • Interest in working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, and a willingness to grow your knowledge of Te Ao and Te Reo Māori. 

  • A customer-focused approach and a passion for creating positive experiences.  

  • Experience or eagerness to expand skills in the fundraising space.

The salary band for this role is $60,000 - $68,000 and will be commensurate with the successful candidate's skills and experience.
