Every donation to Nelson Tasman Hospice helps fund free specialist palliative care services in our community. 

We're seeking an experienced, people-focused values-based operational leader for our new Donation & Distribution Centre (DDC) – the hub supporting our network of Hospice shops. As the Logistics Lead, you will build positive team culture, improve processes, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. 

Whether your background is in retail, logistics, hospitality, or another operational setting, what matters most is your ability to lead people and deliver results. This is a hands-on leadership role combining people management, operational oversight and continuous improvement. 

About the Role 

Reporting to the Retail Donations & Systems Manager, you will: 

  • Lead the daily operation of the DDC 
  • Support, coach and develop staff and volunteers 
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety and wellbeing 
  • Drive excellent donor experiences  
  • Coordinate the flow of donated goods from collection to distribution 
  • Oversee donation collections, deliveries and fleet activities 
  • Manage workflows and operational priorities across a seven-day operation 
  • Build strong relationships with Hospice teams and Retail Leads 
  • Drive process improvements and service excellence 

About You 

You'll bring: 

  • Proven leadership experience 
  • Experience in logistics, distribution or fleet coordination(desirable) 
  • Strong organisational and operational skills 
  • The ability to balance multiple priorities 
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills 
  • A practical, collaborative leadership style 
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience coordinating people, resources and workflows 
  • A commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement 
  • A full New Zealand Driver Licence is essential.
