We're seeking an experienced, people-focused values-based operational leader for our new Donation & Distribution Centre (DDC) – the hub supporting our network of Hospice shops. As the Logistics Lead, you will build positive team culture, improve processes, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Whether your background is in retail, logistics, hospitality, or another operational setting, what matters most is your ability to lead people and deliver results. This is a hands-on leadership role combining people management, operational oversight and continuous improvement.
About the Role
Reporting to the Retail Donations & Systems Manager, you will:
- Lead the daily operation of the DDC
- Support, coach and develop staff and volunteers
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and wellbeing
- Drive excellent donor experiences
- Coordinate the flow of donated goods from collection to distribution
- Oversee donation collections, deliveries and fleet activities
- Manage workflows and operational priorities across a seven-day operation
- Build strong relationships with Hospice teams and Retail Leads
- Drive process improvements and service excellence
About You
You'll bring:
- Proven leadership experience
- Experience in logistics, distribution or fleet coordination(desirable)
- Strong organisational and operational skills
- The ability to balance multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A practical, collaborative leadership style
- A minimum of 3 years' experience coordinating people, resources and workflows
- A commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement
- A full New Zealand Driver Licence is essential.
