AS A BOARD MEMBER YOU WILL:
Fulfill three core duties:
1. Duty of care: Make informed decisions
with the diligence a reasonably careful
person would use.
2. Duty of loyalty: Put the organisation's
interests ahead of your own and disclose
conflicts.
3. Duty of obedience: Follow the law, the
bylaws, and the vision of the service.
Time commitment:
Be willing to commit 4 to 6 hours a month by
participating in monthly board meetings and
any subcommittee work.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Have experience in or an understanding of
not-for-profit organisations, representing
stakeholders' interests, and providing
strategic direction while ensuring long-term
stability. Experience in a chairperson role is
desired. Be a leader in driving strategic
direction, managing the dynamics of the
meeting and representing the organisation.
Be able to work collaboratively with other
board members and the General Manager
for the growth and good of the service and
the community.
