About the role
We are seeking a Pou Ārahi Māori Development Lead to join us! The Pou Ārahi Māori Development Lead operates at the interface between our organisation and key stakeholders, building the awareness, understanding and influence of the youth sector. This role works across the organisation, supporting the work of Ara Taiohi to see an empowered ecosystem of youth development that supports Rangatahi to thrive.
This role would ideally be located in our Wellington office.
Full time
Fixed Term – 12 months
(40 hours a week)
Salary band: $80,000-$90,000 commensurate with experience
About you
You are a driven executor who can engage purposefully with stakeholders to see meaningful connection and change. You love to work relationally and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Energised by a dynamic role where pivoting is often required, you can hold responsibility for multiple streams, various platforms and relationships.
You will have:
An understanding of the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how these are outworked in a Tiriti-based organisation
Proven ability to embed the principles of Mana Taiohi into practice and have these principles guide the workstreams
The ability to build and maintain relationships with Iwi, Hapu and Kaupapa Māori organisations
Proficient in Te Reo Māori me ona Tikanga
Interest in and commitment to young people and the sector that works with them
Tertiary qualification or equivalent Youth Work experience
2+ years’ experience in leadership roles
Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
Ability to work strategically and relationally
