We’re looking for a compassionate Wellbeing Navigator to provide one‑to‑one support for māmā navigating challenges with their mental wellbeing. You’ll walk alongside māmā, help them build confidence, and support them to access the services they need. This role is ideal for someone who brings lived experience, strong boundaries, and a calm, strengths‑based approach.
What you’ll be doing
Develop and review wellbeing plans with māmā.
Complete pre‑visit safety checks and follow home‑visiting procedures.
Support māmā to access services, resources, and community supports.
Build warm, respectful, culturally safe relationships with māmā and whānau.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of visits, assessments, and safety plans.
What you’ll bring
Experience in community support, mental health, social services, or whānau‑focused roles.
Lived experience of maternal mental distress. Strong assessment and risk‑identification skills.
Cultural safety and responsiveness.
Ability to build trust quickly and work respectfully in people’s homes.
Excellent communication, documentation, and boundary‑setting skills.
Confidence working independently and managing sensitive situations calmly.
About Well Women Trust
Well Women Trust began in 2010 as a small community network in Franklin and now supports māmā across South Auckland and North Waikato. We provide accessible, lived‑experience peer support for māmā trying to conceive, during pregnancy, and throughout early parenthood.
