Job Description

 The Caughey Preston Trust is establishing He Wāhi Rangimārie, a unique housing community in West Auckland that will provide safe, secure, and affordable homes for wāhine whai ora.

The Trust is currently delivering the first stage of the development, comprising 24 new homes and community facilities, with the first residents expected to move into the community from July 2027.

Our vision is to create much more than housing. He Wāhi Rangimārie will be a place of belonging, wellbeing, connection, and opportunity for women seeking a stable home and a positive future.

As the Trust transitions to being an operational housing provider, we are seeking an experienced and adaptable Finance and Operations Manager to help ensure we have the systems, processes, and foundations needed for the next stage of our journey.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation at a pivotal point.

We are looking for an experienced finance professional, ideally with accounting qualifications, although applicants with significant relevant experience will also be considered.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Trust Treasurer and General Manager to ensure the Trust has sound financial management, and effective systems and processes required for long-term operations.

This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, can work independently, and is prepared to roll up their sleeves and contribute where needed.

This is a broad role that spans a full range of financial management activities, from processing invoices and payments through to financial reporting, budgeting, systems development, and supporting strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable undertaking detailed day-to-day financial tasks while contributing to the development of the Trust's longer-term financial and operational capability.

Over time, the role is expected to assume responsibility for all financial management functions of the Trust as the organisation and the housing community grow.
