This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, working 15 hours per week.
Location: New Lynn office, for at least 50% of the role hours, with flexibility on working from home and visiting other locations for the rest of the time. You'll need to be available to attend our regular team meetings, which are usually held on Mondays.
This role helps keep the EcoMatters Bike Hubs and our other active and sustainable transport initiatives visible, connected and represented. About two thirds of the role is focused on managing and growing the Facebook presence of the EcoMatters-operated Bike Hubs. The remainder of the time will be spent planning and delivering a variety of marketing and communications activities to promote all our active and sustainable transport initiatives.
There will be some flexibility in the days and hours you work, as you’ll be out visiting bike hubs to capture content for some of the time.
You’ll also be highly organised, self-directed and confident in managing time and priorities.
You’ll be skilled in social media content creation and management, including writing and capturing and editing images and short videos. A high level of written and spoken English is essential, along with strong editorial and political acumen and an eye for detail.
Please send your cover letter and CV to lena@ecomatters.org.nz, and let us know where you saw this job advertised. Applications close on Friday 3 July, but we’ll be considering applications as they come in and may make a decision earlier, so don’t delay.
EcoMatters Environment Trust aims to connect people and place and to nurture kaitiakitanga (guardianship).
Based in Auckland in Aotearoa New Zealand, EcoMatters is an established charitable trust that was formed in 2002. We work with and for the community to deliver environmental initiatives in partnership with key entities like Auckland Council, the Ministry for the Environment, other not-for-profits and community groups.
We do this by supporting the community with knowledge and tools to restore nature, grow food, reduce waste, ride and fix bikes, and live more sustainably. We also run workshops and provide opportunities for hands-on environmental action in Auckland.
