About Satisfy
Satisfy Food Rescue has been operating for over 10 years in Canterbury; rescuing and redistributing edible surplus food in the Waimakariri and Hurunui districts and Christchurch city.
We work collaboratively with local food retailers and 54 community organisations to re-direct surplus perishable food that would otherwise have been destined for landfill or animal feed to those in the community who most need it.
Our food donors include local supermarkets, growers, wholesalers and cafes. Our recipient organisations include all the food banks in the Waimakariri and Hurunui districts, community meal providers, schools and pre-schools. We have a team of almost 60 dedicated volunteers that collect, sort and distribute the food and 11 amazing staff that keep everything going.
Every kilogram rescued is a meal on someone's table. Every story told connects our work to our community and beyond.
