Starting salary: $97,270.00 - $114,436.00 + kiwisaver

The role | Te tūnga

This role is permanent, based in Christchurch. Reporting to the Unit Manager- Statistical Infrastructure (SI), your focus is to provide dedicated platform ownership for the R, SAS and Python platforms at StatsNZ. As a Platform Owner, your key relationships include Technology Services and the platform users in the organisation. As part of the Senior Cohort in the SI team, you will play a key role in commissioning and shaping the work of the team, driven by the needs of the internal users and the platforms’ technical backlog. You will steward the use of the platforms in the organisation, ensuring successful delivery of training, communications, support and establishing practice standards.

This role would suit someone who can bring:

  • Experience in data science or analysis, using a range of programming languages
  • Experience in roles that have product ownership, product management or product lifecycle responsibilities
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • A background delivering user-focused solutions in a technical environment
  • Experience coordinating across teams and engaging with wider enterprise activities
  • A willingness to upskill and increase your cultural capability
