About the role

New Zealand Red Cross is part of the world’s largest humanitarian network, supporting people in times of need and helping communities build resilience across Aotearoa.

Due to an internal promotion, they are now seeking a Senior Advisor Individual Giving to take responsibility for the effective delivery and growth of one of New Zealand’s largest and most effective regular giving programmes. You’ll be involved in contributing to the strategic direction of the programme and its ongoing development, as well as providing oversight and mentorship to a talented Regular Giving Advisor.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser who knows how to get the most out of face to face fundraising. A key revenue-generating role, the portfolio will have significant investment over the next 12 months, providing an excellent foundation to ensure your success in the role. You’ll join a highly collaborative and agile team, and will enjoy the freedom to test, innovate and try new approaches to growing one of the country’s largest and most effective regular giving programmes.

 

What you’ll do

  • Drive best-practice regular giving programmes to achieve targets and growth
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of regular giving products that are attractive to and meet the needs of donors
  • Manage the operational relationship between New Zealand Red Cross and specialist third party regular giving service providers
  • Undertake performance analysis activities to ensure that the regular giving portfolio is meeting agreed performance targets and is accurately forecasting future growth
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation, especially within the philanthropy team and programme managers

 

What we’re looking for

  • A proven record of managing successful fundraising products and programmes at a senior level, with specific experience working within individual giving programmes and managing third party service providers
  • A good understanding and knowledge of the principles of fundraising within the charitable sector, and an extensive understanding of the donor development process
  • Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment, confidently troubleshooting, solving problems, and testing new ideas
  • A strong team player, with the ability to mentor and provide guidance to other team members
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A self-starter, driven and highly self-motivated
  • Ability to plan, manage and prioritise workload and time effectively
  • An empathy for the humanitarian sector and enthusiasm for the work of New Zealand Red Cross
