The Role
We are seeking an organised and people-focused Volunteer Support Group Coordinator to bring kin carers together through regular support meetings and community connection. This role is vital in reducing isolation, strengthening peer support and ensuring kin carers feel informed and valued.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and promote regular kin carer support group meetings
- Do ring-arounds and follow-ups to encourage attendance
- Book venues and organise meeting logistics
- Arrange guest speakers and relevant presentations
- Welcome and support new kin carers into the group
- Assist with planning occasional social and wellbeing events
- Work alongside the Board and wider support team
- Provide feedback on themes, needs and emerging issues for kin carers
Skills & Experience
- Strong communication and people skills
- Warm, empathetic and culturally responsive approach
- Good organisation and time management
- Confidence speaking with small groups
- Experience in community work, facilitation or support roles an advantage
- Comfortable using phone, email and basic online tools
