Programme Manager

Job Description

Programme Manager Kootuitui Trust

Permanent 0.8- 1.0 FTE (TBA)

A role reporting to the Chief Executive.

Want to be part of Kootuitui Trust redressing the inequity in our community and improving lifelong outcomes of young people growing up in South Auckland.

Kootuitui means weaving or connecting, and in this way, our strands work together to support whaanau and schools in improving outcomes for tamariki. Kootuitui Trust has four Strands: Education, Health, Financial Wellbeing and Whaanau. Like Harakeke, these strands are intrinsically interconnected and interdependent.

Kootuitui delivers wraparound services that incorporate health, education, whaanau and financial wellbeing. We do this as this is the only way to provide young people with the platform they need to reach their full potential. Research has identified that these four key strands, when delivered together, can have a transformative impact on our children, their futures, and the whaanau.

Every $1 invested in our initiatives now generates up to $11 in total social return for Aotearoa New Zealand. This impact is driven by our integrated approach to health, education, and financial well-being, including the Warm Dry Healthy Homes programme, which alone delivers an estimated $4.60 in social value for every $1 spent.

Kootuitui Trust is seeking a Programme Manager:

  • The Programme Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the  Kootuitui Trust Education and Whaanau strands.

  • Responsibilities in active achievement of our strategic direction, the day-to-day leadership and line management of staff, oversight of work programmes, stakeholder management, budgeting and financial management, promotion and health and safety.

Complementing an effective Kootuitui team, you will be respected for your expertise, ‘can-do’ attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail.

You will have a University Degree or relevant experience in health, social development, management, or a related field.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant field is a key requirement of the role. This will include experience in building and managing successful teams, empathy and affinity for the community Kootuitui serves, and a valid New Zealand driver’s licence.

You will have a passion for the voluntary sector and honour the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

This role will be based at Kootuitui Trust office based at Papakura High School.
