Accounts Lead - Auckland-based

Recreate NZ is looking for an enthusiastic full-time Accounts Lead (30 hours per week) to join our passionate team based in Ellerslie, Auckland.

The role would suit a recent graduate or someone with 1-2 years experience wanting to grow their knowledge, and the remuneration reflects this. The successful applicant would align closely with our values and work well within our growing team.

Recreate NZ is a registered charitable trust that delivers over 700 programmes per year for groups of youth with a variety of mild to moderate intellectual disabilities in Auckland, Christchurch, Waikato, Wellington and the Bay of Plenty. The successful applicant will have one direct report being our Regional Accounts Officer also based in Ellerslie.

Office hours would be 30 per week and key tasks would include:

• Creating invoices for services delivered.

• Assisting clients in accessing their funding streams and responding to client enquiries.

• Processing payroll

• Accounts payable, including GST & PAYE payments.

• Monitoring & following up accounts receivable.

• Bank account & Visa account reconciliations in Xero.

• Generating profit & loss reports for internal review.

• Ensuring end of month and end of year deadlines are met.

• Liaising with the external accountant on notable developments to assist with the preparation of month and year end financial reports.

• Liaising and supporting our Funding team with accountability requirements.

• Banking cash received.

• Staff management.

• Ad hoc duties as required.

Who we are looking for:

• A recent accounting graduate or an accounts administrator looking to take the next step in the field of accounts.

• Xero experience required.

• PayHero payroll software experience preferred but not essential.

• Mid-may or June 2026 start date preferred, and can be negotiated.
