ChildPlayWorks Charitable Trust – Te manawa whanaungatanga mō ngā tamariki katoa / The heart of relationship for every child

Are you passionate about improving the wellbeing of tamariki? Do you bring strategic insight or financial expertise to the table? ChildPlayWorks Charitable Trust is looking for new Trustees to help guide and strengthen our organisation’s impact across Aotearoa New Zealand.

About us
ChildPlayWorks is a specialist provider of Child-Centred Play Therapy (CCPT) - an internationally recognised therapeutic approach that enables children to express, process and heal through play. We support:

• professionals through high-quality CCPT training,

• tamariki in therapeutic settings, and

• whānau with education and guidance for ongoing support.

As a Charitable Trust, our Board plays a vital role in governance, strategy and safeguarding our mission for the future.

Roles Available

We are seeking Trustees (including a Chairperson) with the following strengths:

Finance & Risk Management

• Experience in financial governance, budgeting, audits or investment oversight

• Ability to support sound fiscal stewardship and transparency

Strategic Leadership

• Background in organisational strategy, long-term planning or governance

• Capability to contribute insight on growth, partnerships and sustainability

Whether you are a seasoned board member or looking to step into governance for the first time, we welcome motivated individuals who share our commitment to tamariki and their wellbeing.

What Trustees Do

As part of the Board, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight

• Uphold governance, compliance and ethical standards

• Review financial performance and risk frameworks

• Support organisational sustainability and partnerships

• Act as an ambassador for ChildPlayWorks in the community

Commitment:

• Regular board meetings quarterly (approx 3-monthly)

• Term: 3 years, renewable

• Voluntary, unpaid role
