Centre Project Manager (Fixed‑Term, 6 Months – Immediate Start)

Part‑time | 20–25 hours per week | Fully remote (NZ‑based) with some travel

Ren Xue Australasia (RXAA) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join us immediately on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract, with a possibility of extension. Whether the successful candidate joins us  as an employee or contractor is negotiable.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key leadership role in an early‑stage, purpose‑driven building project that will establish a Centre for Ren Xue in Onekaka, Mohua/Golden Bay. The Centre is envisioned as a global hub for teaching and organisational activities and represents a significant milestone in Ren Xue’s  continued growth.

About Ren Xue Australasia

Ren Xue Australasia is a not‑for‑profit charitable trust operating across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. We exist to support the development of Ren Xue, Ren Xue teachers, and the wider Ren Xue community, guided by principles of harmony, kindness, personal growth, and service to others (Zi Du, Du Ren).

The Role

Reporting to the RXAA Chairperson, the Centre Project Manager will lead, coordinate and maintain operational oversight of the Ren Xue Centre building project. This role is fully remote, with some travel required, and is well suited to a self‑motivated project manager who thrives in complex, values‑led environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic vision of the building project and actively manage risk
  • Oversee budgets, operational plans, and financial reporting
  • Ensure legislative and regulatory compliance for both the building project and the farm property
  • Coordinate and support staff, contractors, and volunteers
  • Work closely with RXAA leadership on legal, HR, and financial matters
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders including the Ren Xue community, local community, local iwi, funders, Council, and media
  • Bring cultural competence and an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi into all aspects of the role

About You

You will bring:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager (building sector experience is desirable)
  • Strong financial and business acumen, with experience managing budgets
  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory compliance in Aotearoa New Zealand
  • The ability to lead through growth, change, and early‑stage development
  • High levels of initiative, adaptability, and problem‑solving capability
  • Confidence using digital tools and developing systems and processes
  • Alignment with Ren Xue values, including kindness, harmony, and the commitment to uplifting oneself and others

Relevant qualifications are preferred, and you must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
