Tāhono Media is an online cross-sectoral group of advocates working to reduce the harm of misrepresentation and under-representation minority communities face in media in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
We work positively with communities and media organisations to create greater mutual understanding through advocacy, education and relationship building.
We are seeking members from across Aotearoa to join our rōpū for our monthly meetings and involvement in different workstreams. We operate from a small budget to deliver activities on this kaupapa, so some of this work will be compensated, and monthly meeting attendance is met with a koha.
We especially encourage those with experience in media, broadcasting, journalism, or communications to bring your knowledge and skillsets to our project. We are proud of the diversity of our group, and welcome enquiries from all backgrounds.
