Community and Sports Programmes Coordinator (Mandarin Speaking)

Job Description

SportHub Community Trust is seeking a motivated and organised Community and Sports Programmes Coordinator (Mandarin speaking) to join our team in New Lynn, Auckland. This full-time role will support the delivery of community sports programmes, coordinate events, and build strong relationships with local clubs, schools, and community members.

As a large proportion of our senior members come from the Chinese-speaking community, this role requires someone who can communicate confidently in both Mandarin and English and engage positively with diverse community groups.

About the role

Programme Coordination

  • Coordinate and support the delivery of community programmes and sports activities

  • Assist with after-school programmes and holiday programmes

  • Support the delivery of community initiatives such as Dragon Beats, Active Star,  and youth engagement programmes

  • Support the organisation of sports leagues, competitions, and tournaments

  • Assist with workshops, community programmes, and cultural activities

Community Events & Festivals

  • Support planning and delivery of major community events and festivals, including Chinese New Year Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Moon Festival, and other community celebrations

  • Assist with event logistics, coordination of volunteers, and programme delivery during events

  • Work with community partners, cultural groups, and stakeholders to ensure successful event delivery

Community Engagement

  • Build positive relationships with community members, schools, and programme participants

  • Engage with youth, seniors, and members from all backgrounds to support participation in programmes and activities

Membership & Club Coordination

  • Support and coordinate senior membership and community membership programmes

  • Maintain membership records and assist with communication to members

  • Coordinate Synergy clubs including badminton, volleyball, and pickleball groups

  • Support club bookings, programme participation, and communication

Programme Administration

  • Maintain programme schedules, registrations, and participation records

  • Assist with programme logistics and coordination

  • Work collaboratively with the operations team to ensure programmes run smoothly

  • Prepare programme and event reports after activities are completed, including participation data, outcomes, and feedback where required

$27 – $30 per year (NZD)
