About the role
We are seeking a Youth Coach to join our Youth Service team. You'll be primarily working with young people aged 16-18 years, who are NEET (not engaged in education, employment or training), or are at risk of becoming NEET. The Youth Coach will provide one to one and group-based support and development opportunities for young people engaged with our service. These supports may be provided at Vibe sites, in schools and other community settings.
What we're looking for
You'll enjoy working to improve the wellbeing of young people in our community. Ideally, you'll have:
Experience working with young people, or young people who are not engaged in education or training
A tertiary qualification in Youth Development, Social Work, or similar qualification would be advantageous
A demonstrated understanding of the principles of positive youth development, and practice experience to support this
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good understanding of technology, and experience in using a client database
A full, clean drivers’ licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes

Vibe (Hutt Valley Youth Health Trust) is a Youth One Stop Shop delivering holistic health and wellbeing services to young people aged 10-24 in the Hutt Valley, supporting them to thrive and achieve their potential. Vibe has been delivering services which support young people to thrive and achieve their potential for the past 29 years.
