The Jade Speaks Up Educational Trust (JSUET) works to prevent violence and reduce harm in children’s lives by strengthening the capability of the adults who support them. We focus on building the emotional literacy, relational safety, and confidence of teachers, coaches, social workers, and community leaders so they can recognise early signs of distress, respond safely to challenging behaviour, and support children experiencing adversity or family harm. Our programmes are evidence-based, trauma-informed, and grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, with a strong emphasis on practical strategies that create safer, more protective environments for tamariki and rangatahi.
We are entering an exciting next phase of growth and are seeking a skilled, values-aligned professional to lead our programme development and learning delivery, helping to expand our impact in violence prevention and child wellbeing across Aotearoa.
We are seeking a Programme Development & Facilitation Lead to lead the development, refinement and quality assurance of our learning programmes, and to deliver high-quality facilitation across in-person and virtual settings.
This role sits at the heart of JSUET’s impact. You will shape and deliver learning experiences that support adults working with children to build emotional literacy, wellbeing and safety, across sectors such as education, social services, youth work and community sport.
You will work closely with the Executive Director and Operations Manager, and collaborate with cultural advisors and subject matter experts as needed.
Developing, refining and maintaining programme learning content, resources and tools
Delivering engaging, safe and culturally responsive in-person workshops, webinars and training sessions
Adapting content for digital and e-learning formats
Ensuring learning content and facilitation are evidence-based, trauma-informed and aligned with JSUET’s kaupapa
Using participant feedback to continuously improve programme quality
Staying connected to sector developments in wellbeing, education and violence prevention
You’re an experienced learning designer and facilitator who is confident working with adult audiences and sensitive subject matter. You’re grounded, organised and comfortable working independently within a clearly defined role.
You’ll bring:
Experience designing and delivering learning programmes for adults working with children
Strong facilitation skills and the ability to create psychologically safe learning environments
Strong understanding of violence prevention, emotional literacy, wellbeing & trauma-informed practice
Familiarity with the Aotearoa New Zealand education or social services context
A genuine commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice
Confidence using digital tools and online learning platforms
Contractor role
15 hours per week on average
Flexibility required to balance programme development and facilitation across the year
Additional facilitation work may occur depending on demand

Jade Speaks Up Educational Trust is a charitable trust providing schools and communities with processes and resources to support children to articulate what is happening and seek appropriate help if they experience anxiety, bullying or family harm. We are a dedicated small NFP team working alongside schools and kura to support and improve the wellbeing and personal safety of children.
