Job Description

Hei Whakapiki Mauri began in 2016 as a Whānau Ora entity and became a Trust in 2023. The rōpū provides a kaupapa Māori space for tangata whaikaha Māori and their whānau to connect.

The Trust is funded through philanthropic pūtea and is supported by Kanohi ki te Kanohi if whānau need extra assistance.

The kaupapa is centred on tangata whaikaha Māori and whānau supporting each other — being Māori first and lifting the mauri of everyone. The rōpū holds monthly hui and shares regular pānui, as well as maintaining an active presence on social media.

Hei Whakapiki Mauri Trust is now looking for new Trustees to join our Trust Board. We are guided by the principles of Whānau Ora. We’re seeking people who bring:

  • Lived experience
  • Good governance experience and skills
  • Financial understanding – comfortable with budgets and funding streams
  • Strong organisational abilities – helping us build effective systems and processes

The Hei Whakapiki Mauri Trust is in a development stage and needs strong governance to take it to the next level. You don’t need to be an expert in everything, but we do need Trustees who are thoughtful, reliable, and able to commit to regular meetings and mahi.

Trustees are appointed for three years, following a fair and open process (including Police vetting). We value rangatiratanga and a strong commitment to Whānau Ora.

If you’re ready to help shape our future, we encourage you to apply.
