The Events Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising and community events to support CatWalk’s mission and revenue targets. The role involves strategic planning, budget management, logistics coordination, and building key relationships with stakeholders, sponsors, and volunteers.
Key responsibilities
Event management: Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of fundraising and community engagement events (e.g., galas, golf days, peer-to-peer campaigns, community sausage sizzles) from start to finish, within set timeframes and budgets.
Fundraising and revenue generation: Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed financial targets, including securing sponsorship, managing donor acquisition, and leveraging events for supporter retention.
Logistics coordination: Organise all event logistics, including venue selection, catering, A/V, entertainment, travel, and accommodation, ensuring a seamless experience for attendees.
Relationship management: Build and nurture strong relationships with internal teams, volunteers, sponsors, suppliers, and external partners.
Marketing and communication: Coordinate with the communications team to develop compelling marketing collateral and promotional strategies using digital and social media channels to drive attendance and awareness.
Reporting and analytics: Conduct post-event evaluations, analyse feedback, and report on financial outcomes and ROI to inform future improvements.
Compliance: Ensure all events adhere to relevant health, safety, and well-being regulations and follow internal policies and best practices.
Skills and experience required
Proven experience: A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a relevant events management role, ideally within a not-for-profit setting.
Project management: Strong organisational and project management skills are essential, with the ability to manage multiple projects, competing deadlines, and unexpected challenges.
Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage persuasively with a wide range of people from different backgrounds.
Technical proficiency: Competence with Microsoft Office, CRM databases, online fundraising platforms, and digital marketing tools.
Personal attributes: A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, high attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to the charity's mission and values.

External: CatWalk supporters, suppliers, contractors, sponsors, agencies
Due to the size and nature of CatWalk, team members may be asked to assist in other areas as required.
