Sense Rugby New Zealand is looking for new trustees to steer our work to provide high quality, high impact and accessible opportunities for disabled tamariki and rangatahi to participate in rugby.
Sense Rugby New Zealand is an occupational therapy led rugby program designed to help tamariki and rangatahi participate in active recreation and sport. Our mission is to help all tamariki and rangatahi to love movement and sport. We do this as we believe that sport and active recreation has the power to help create positive physical and mental health and wellbeing, and a sense of belonging and connection within our local communities.
Sense Rugby New Zealand began work as a charity in Aotearoa in 2020. We’re proud of all we’ve achieved in our five years of operation and excited about the next phase of growth.
You will be joining a cohesive, high performing Board. Our Board is proud of the partnership we have grown with our management team and supporters. Team fit and values-alignment of future Trustees is critical to us. We are excited to strengthen and grow our governance team so we can continue to expand our reach and impact across Aotearoa.
We are looking for candidates with any one or combination of the following skills: :
Not-for-profit funding, commercial partnerships and fundraising
Lived experience and cultural diversity, including tangata whenua perspectives.
Marketing, communications and brand/profile growth
And attributes:
Passionate about making a positive impact for disabled tamariki and rangatahi.
Values-aligned with Sense Rugby New Zealand’s kaupapa, with a commitment to equity, inclusion and access.
Collaborative, respectful team player who contributes to a high-trust Board culture.
Open, curious and willing to listen to lived experience and diverse perspectives.
Acts with integrity, accountability and care, and is committed to fulfilling trustee responsibilities.
