We are seeking a creative Marketing and Communications Lead that will be at the forefront of shaping our public voice and amplifying our mission to improve gut health across Aotearoa. You’ll define our brand messaging, create engaging content, and drive communications strategies that resonate with our diverse audiences. You’ll also support our events and campaigns, ensuring consistent and impactful communication across all channels. Working closely with our CEO and partners you will enjoy a flexible role with meaningful purpose.
Key responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications strategies.
Create and manage content for social media, newsletters, website updates, and other communication channels.
Define and maintain The Gut Foundation’s tone of voice, ensuring all messaging is consistent and aligned with our values.
Support and coordinate communication for events and fundraising campaigns, making sure each initiative is well-promoted and engaging.
Work with partners and sponsors to co-promote campaigns and initiatives.
Monitor analytics and provide insights to improve reach, engagement, and overall effectiveness of our communications.
Who you are:
You have proven experience in marketing and communications for 2+ years, ideally in a not-for-profit or health-related sector. (Digital marketing, social media management, content creation, website management). Event management experience a big bonus.
Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or similar.
You’re creative, tech-savvy, and comfortable using digital tools to manage and track communications. Experience with Canva and other design platforms.
You understand analytics and are comfortable interpreting data (Google Analytics, social insights, email CMPs).
You are self-motivated, organised with a can-do attitude and thrive in a remote working environment but are also able to engage with the team in Christchurch or Auckland when needed. You also have the capacity to work full time when needed (usually for events).
You’re passionate about health education and excited to help us break down stigma and promote gut health awareness.
