Volunteer Co-ordinator - Rotokare Scenic Reserve Trust
Fixed term, part time
Based in Taranaki, 12km east of Eltham, Taranaki
Rotokare Scenic Reserve Trust is an Award-winning community-led, conservation-based charitable trust in the heart of Taranaki. The primary focus of the Trust is to achieve the highest level of restoration, protection, and enhancement of Rotokare’s indigenous ecosystem through high quality biosecurity delivery. Surrounding Rotokare Scenic Reserve is a 8.2km pest-proof fence that allows endangered wildlife to flourish in a pest free sanctuary.
The focus of the Volunteer Co-ordinator role is to grow, support and strengthen the volunteer team, while ensuring safe, meaningful and enjoyable experiences that contribute directly to Rotokare Sanctuary key aims and outcomes.
If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:
Physically fit, self-motivated and organised
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of people
Ability to train, inspire and nurture volunteers
A NZ driver license
It would be an advantage if you also had:
Previous experience in conservation
Volunteer management experience, including understanding of health & safety
