Role description
As our Design and Social Media Lead, you’ll be responsible for connecting with our communities across different social media channels, and creating engaging content that affirms the lives, experiences and realities of disabled people in Aotearoa.
This is an exciting and dynamic role, focused on generating ideas that create positive social change for disabled people. You’ll be well-supported by The D*List’s communications manager, editorial team, and social media strategy, along with an existing library of brand assets.
The role includes the following key responsibilities:
Graphic design
Design compelling imagery to sit alongside our website content at thedlist.co.nz
Prepare social tiles utilising existing templates and brand guidelines
Create additional brand material as needed, e.g. posters, flyers, etc.
Social media management
Plan, schedule and create weekly content for our social channels that reflect our brand, our values and align with our social media strategy
Develop regular content formats for social channels that create joyful, unapologetic spaces for disabled people to be in community together
Make recommendations for improvements to our content and processes based on best practice, data and insights
Community engagement
Use our social channels to engage positively with our community, in ways that reflect our values and align with our social media strategy
Build on relationships developed through social to identify opportunities for content, events and collaborations with other disabled people, communities and organisations

About You
Ideally, you’ll have lived experience of disability, neurodiversity, or chronic health conditions, or have strong relationships across disability communities. You will share our commitment to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You will also be someone who loves to be part of creating new things, and is excited by the idea of contributing to the growth and evolution of The D*List.
