About the role

We are expanding on what we can deliver to our community therapeutically.  This is a mental health clinician position that will see you deliver the therapeutic component of PIKI here at Vibe to our 18–25-year-old community.

 At this stage you will be the only PIKI clinician at Vibe but will be interconnected with a variety of PIKI clinicians across Te Whanganui a Tara for practice development opportunities and networking.

As a service, we deliver no less than 5 therapeutic sessions/engagements in a working day. There is also the opportunity for later starts on a Thursday morning to deliver evening-based sessions at our Lower Hutt site, alongside our evening Primary Health clinic.

What we’re looking for

  • A professional, qualified and registered mental health clinician with a relevant professional body such as NZAC/NZCCA/DAPAANZ

  • Has/able to apply for Te Whatu Ora accreditation

  • A strong passion for youth and young adults

  • Culturally safe practice with a strong commitment to bi-cultural awareness in practice as well as equitable outcomes for our community

  • Awareness and safe practice with our LGBTQIA+ community

  • Trained in psychological interventions

  • Drug and Alcohol brief intervention experience

  • Able to work independently, attention to detail is a must with this position

  • Good relationship building with whaiora, kaimahi, whānau alongside other iwi, community agencies including primary and secondary healthcare settings.

About Te Puāwai Hauora

Te Puāwai Hauora is made up of our therapy dog Puka and variety of professionals. This includes therapeutically trained registered mental health professionals, some who are specialised within their areas of expertise such as our LGBTQIA+ community, Alcohol and Other Drug Co-Existing Clinicians and our Community Health Social Worker providing us the ability to meet varied needs within a young person’s journey whilst the flexibility of being within a YOSS framework.

About Vibe

Vibe is a Youth One Stop Shop (YOSS) Non-Government Organisation that has been providing a range of primary health and social support services for young people aged 10-24 years in Te Awa kairangi (The Hutt Valley) for the past 29 years.
Our services are delivered from our two Vibe sites in Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt, as well as a number of schools and community settings across the Hutt Valley in our community. (Refer to: Under One Umbrella – Cross Party Report)

This is a full time, permanent position, 40 hours per week (open to negotiation of an 0.8 FTE).
