Job Description

The Anglican Diocese of Wellington is seeking to recruit a Governance & Project Coordinator (0.5 FTE, 20 hours per week).

As our Governance and Project Coordinator, you'll be the strategic partner to our Diocesan Manager, ensuring critical projects move forward and governance functions run seamlessly.

We are seeking an individual who shares the mission and values of our Diocese and will work closely with our Bishops, parish leaders, and governance bodies to support local faith communities and advance the Wellington Diocese’s Mission and Vision.

This isn't your typical coordination role. You'll lead delegated projects independently, coordinating complex projects across multiple workstreams and producing governance-level reporting for key stakeholders.

This role will suit someone who takes initiative, provides clear and robust advice to support effective decision-making.

This role is responsible for:

  • Driving meaningful projects forward: Take ownership of specific initiatives from planning through to completion, working autonomously to deliver results that matter
  • Supporting governance excellence: Prepare high-quality papers and reports for our governance bodies, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure informed decision-making
  • Galvanising projects: Track project milestones, coordinate with team members, and keep everything moving smoothly so our Diocesan Manager can focus on strategic leadership
  • Embodying our mission: Play a key role in maintaining manaakitanga (hospitality and care) at the Anglican Centre, reflecting our commitment to serving our wider Diocese

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Connect authentically with diverse people and build strong working relationships across all levels
  • Juggle multiple priorities with confidence, using excellent self-management to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • See opportunities to improve systems and processes, bringing your aptitude for administration to enhance how we work
  • Share our values and feel close personal alignment with the Mission, Vision and Values of our Diocese—prioritising solidarity with the last, lost and the least
