Vibe (Hutt Valley Youth Health Trust) is the Hutt Valley’s Youth One Stop Shop delivering holistic primary health and wellbeing services to any young person aged 10-24 living in the Hutt Valley.  Vibe has been delivering services which support young people to thrive and achieve their potential for the past 29 years. 

The Role

This role is a key leadership role within Vibe, providing professional leadership for the team, leading practice and delivery of specific services. The Social Services Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the Oranga Tamariki contracts and the MSD social services contracts, including practice oversight, service coordination, and contract reporting.

The role also works closely with staff across Vibe to continue developing our social services and to ensure all services are youth-friendly, accessible, and responsive to the needs and aspirations of young people.

To be successful in this position you will be an experienced Social Services professional with a minimum of 5 years’ practice experience. You will need to demonstrate experience in leadership within a community, youth, health, or social service setting and experience in providing supervision and case management. You will bring to this position:

·      A qualified and registered social worker with a minimum of 5 years’ experience

·      Demonstrated leadership experience

·      Demonstrated experience working with young people and their whanau

·      Excellent people skills, emotional intelligence, good judgement, and be calm and discrete

·      A proven ability to motivate and inspire staff to always do their best

·      Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive messages or disagreements with tact and diplomacy

·      A robust working knowledge of, and commitment to the principles of Positive Youth Development

·      Proven ability to manage administrative tasks and experience in using a client database

·      A supportive approach to the Kaupapa, philosophy, and values of Vibe

·      Excellent time management skills

·      An ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team

·      Ability to take constructive feedback to help develop their own professional practice

$100,000 - $115,000 dependent on skills and experience
