Scope of Position
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community and taking action on the climate crisis? Are you eager to gain experience in grassroots organising and movement-building? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Local Climate Action Organiser to help grow and support our network in Tāmaki Makaurau, Pōneke, Ōtautahi or Ōtepoti (we’re recruiting for three positions). This is an exciting opportunity for someone new to organising who wants to develop skills in activism, community engagement, and collaboration.
As a 350 Organiser, your role will focus on building and supporting our local volunteer group, connecting with other climate organisations, and collaborating with stakeholders to strengthen the movement in your area. You’ll be the face of 350 Aotearoa in your city, organising impactful actions and supporting community-led climate justice campaigns.
You will report to and be supported by the Co-Directors and collaborate with the 350 Aotearoa team. No two days will look the same, so this role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

A collaborative, flexible approach to work; you’re a team player who’s willing to pitch in where needed.
Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends to attend community events or meetings (TOIL will be provided).
Hands-on experience in grassroots organising and movement-building.
Training and mentorship to develop your skills in campaigning, advocacy, and volunteer coordination.
The opportunity to make a tangible impact in your community and beyond.
Access to a supportive network of passionate climate leaders across Aotearoa.
In your application, we’d love to hear from you on how this part-time role might fit into your other commitments and plans for the next two years. Since this is an entry-level position, we’re more interested in your personality, passion and ideas for this role rather than a traditional listing of relevant experience.
