Brain Injury New Zealand (BINZ) supports individuals and families affected by brain injury by offering navigation, education and support. We are seeking a committed and compassionate individual to join our Board as President. As board member and President, you’ll play a key role in leading and shaping the direction of our organisation, ensuring we continue to meet the needs of our community with integrity and purpose.
About the role:
As President, you’ll provide strategic leadership, chair the Board, and represent the organisation nationally. Key priorities include governance, financial oversight, stakeholder engagement, and driving growth.
We’re looking for someone who is mission driven with:
▪ Proven leadership with governance expertise
▪ Strong communication and advocacy skills
▪ Financial literacy and strategic thinking
▪ Knowledge and insight into the issues impacting on the lives of people with an acquired brain injury
▪ Ideally with previous experience in a similar national role
▪ A passion for and experience operating in the disability and not-for-profit sectors
▪ Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of working with a wide range of people

Brain Injury New Zealand (BINZ) is the national body representing 12 regional Brain Injury Associations across the country. We provide advocacy, education, and support to people affected by brain injury and their whānau.
Brain injuries occur every 15 minutes in New Zealand – more frequently than cancer diagnoses. The ongoing effects can be complex and unique to each individual. BINZ helps those impacted by brain injury rebuild meaningful lives by connecting them with appropriate services and support.
