Volunteering with the Speed Freaks 

Are you passionate about exercise and running and keen to share this with others? This is how we create Speed Freaks Magic!  Our Kaupapa- to increase health, wellbeing and connection. Supporting recovery from addiction and mental distress through the vehicle of running and walking. 

We have volunteer coach opportunities in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland)

Our programmes are primarily delivered by groups of community volunteers who are passionate about exercise and running. Our volunteer coach led running and walking programmes operate in residential and community settings, with additional support provided by Speed Freaks staff as needed.

Volunteer coaches come from diverse backgrounds, but all share the joy of running and role model pro social, positive and healthy lifestyles. No running coaching experience is needed, we provide all the required training.

​Our recruitment process includes an interview, police check, training, and shadowing local groups.

You will need to be able to commit to volunteering at least fortnightly for 60 mins, and to attend the required online training and initial shadowing.

We require Volunteer Coaches for the following sessions in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland):

Monday 2pm - Royal Oak

Tuesday 6.30am- New Windsor

Wednesday 12.30pm - Ambury Farm

Wednesday 2pm - Epsom

Thursday 3pm- Te Atatu Peninsula
