Job Description

Alzheimers NZ is a lead organisation at a national level representing people living with dementia mate wareware.  Nationally we focus on raising awareness of dementia mate wareware, supporting people to live well, and advocating for more and better services. We also support local Alzheimers organisations around Aotearoa NZ.

We are a hard-working, friendly team on the lookout for someone to lead and manage the clinical and services advice, input and relationships required to support Alzheimers NZ and local Alzheimers organisations to provide quality and accessible services for people living with dementia mate wareware so they can live their best possible lives.

This pivotal role:

·         Walks alongside local managers to support frontline services

·         Provides a credible clinical basis so that the national and local activities, resources and guidelines are based on accurate and up-to-date knowledge

·         Plays a constructive leadership role within and across the sector.

We’re looking for a registered social services or health professional and recognised leader in the dementia sector with significant experience working with people living with dementia in a variety of settings including in the community. We are looking for an all-rounder who can hit the ground running, build trusted and collaborative relationships and find pragmatic solutions. We value proven experience, creative thinking and great communication skills.

This is a fixed-term full-time position for twelve months and will suit someone who is proactive and productive, and who thrives on working in a fast-paced, team-focused way. An excellent understanding of relevant research and best practice affecting dementia services in Aotearoa NZ is essential as is the ability to work confidently with data and evidence based decision making. An understanding of not-for-profit organisations is an advantage but not essential.
