About Olympia Gymnastics Sports

Olympia Gymnastics Sports is one of Christchurch’s leading community-focused gymnastics club, proudly offering a full suite of four competitive gymnastics codes: Women’s Artistic (WAG), Men’s Artistic (MAG), Rhythmic (RG), and Trampoline (TRA). Hundreds of gymnasts and their families engage in our recreational and competitive pathways each year.

Olympia offers a pathway from recreational classes through to competitive squads, ensuring every gymnast can find their place and reach their potential. We are proud of our history of producing athletes who have represented Canterbury and New Zealand, and of our ongoing commitment to developing future champions on and off the mat.

Multiple roles available

Olympia Gymnastics is seeking passionate individuals to join our new Board and help us adapt our business model and drive Olympia's sustainable growth within a lean, not-for-profit environment. Supported by a new sustainability strategy the new Board will play a pivotal role in shaping Olympia's future. As a Board member, you will provide:

  • Financial Oversight: Secure economic health through rigorous budget management and transparent reporting.
  • Strategic Leadership: Drive growth and sustainability with a clear vision.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Protect the club by adhering to legal standards and mitigating risks.
  • Optimise Operations: Maximise efficiency by streamlining resource allocation.
  • Implement Sustainability: Ensure long-term viability through strategic action.
  • Foster Collaboration: Build a culture of accountability and innovation

 

We are looking for individuals with a range of skills including:

  • Marketing & Community Engagement: Drive Olympia's recreational membership growth by crafting and implementing innovative marketing strategies that elevate our brand and engage new members.
  • Financial Stewardship: Ensure Olympia's long-term financial health by providing expert financial management and strategic reporting.
  • Legal & Compliance Expertise: Navigate regulatory requirements, manage risk, and ensure robust governance frameworks while supporting contract negotiations and policy development.
  • Organisational Maturity: Champion the process of embedding professional systems and fostering a culture of operational excellence, creating a more efficient and enjoyable environment for the team.
  • People & Culture Leadership: Champion a positive and inclusive culture where every team member thrives, fostering a supportive and engaging environment.
  • Strategic Vision & Growth: Shape Olympia's future by developing and executing strategic plans that drive sustainable organisational growth.
  • Sustainable Performance pathways: Optimise our competitive program to become leaner, more sustainable, enabling consistency across Codes and international benchmarked.
