About the Role
Join Ark in the Park as our Ecological Field Support and play a vital role in the conservation of native species and ecosystems. This hands-on role supports the delivery of field operations and ecological monitoring in the Ark, working closely with the Field Operations Lead and volunteers.
Ark in the Park is a collaborative conservation initiative between Forest & Bird, Auckland Council, and Te Kawerau ā Maki. Forest & Bird is seeking skilled and hard-working ecological field support person to work with the Field Operations Lead and project volunteers and help restore native wildlife and habitats in the heart of the Waitākere Ranges.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will deliver field operations including pest control, track maintenance, infrastructure upkeep, ecological monitoring and data collection. You will support the wider team to coordinate and support volunteers in field activities and ensure health and safety protocols are followed in all fieldwork.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in field-based conservation or ecological work, strong practical skills and physical fitness for outdoor tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, good communication and coordination skills and commitment to conservation and environmental values
