Operations Manager

Wyndham and Districts Community Rest Home is a not-for-profit organisation which has been operating for the last 27 years and provides high quality rest home care to residents in the Southland Community.

We are looking to appoint an Operations Manager to lead the team and day-to-day management of this facility.

The primary purpose of this role will be to:

·         Manage the facility as a quality continuing care environment, and a viable business, by maintaining maximum resident occupancy and ensuring the economical but effective functioning of all departments.

·         Ensure that high-quality nursing care is provided by the clinical team and be the key liaison with families, whanau and clients.

·         Ensuring that the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of resident-centred care is delivered, with continuity, cultural sensitivity and research based practices.

·         Ensure there is a high level of support and contact with residents and their relatives, staff, general practitioner(s) and other health professionals.

·         Maintain high standards of leadership and communication with all stakeholders.

 The successful applicant is required to have strong business acumen, and a track record of providing clear leadership and team cohesion.  We welcome clinical and non-clinical expressions of interest.

 The role combines the oversight of clinical requirements, alongside the operational management of the facility.  Ideally, you will be someone who:

• Is passionate about the age care sector.

• Has a strong sense of responsibility and accountability along with the ability to show initiative and cope well with change.

• Is an excellent communicator, able to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, staff, whanau and within the health care and social sector.

• Has a proven track record in operational management, leading and managing staff, and meeting compliance requirements.

• Maintains strong relationships with the Board and the clinical lead.

• Can work in a highly regulated environment.  

• While previous experience in the aged care sector would be an advantage, we also welcome applications from those with strong operational leadership experience in other sectors.
