We recognise that first attempts at change aren’t always successful, and the journey may be long for some whānau (clients). We have some exciting opportunities available for Social Services Practitioners or Counsellors, working in a multi-disciplinary team offering a range of services that complement each other beautifully.

These roles provide individual and/or group sessions with tamariki (children), rangatahi (youth), pakeke (adult) and their families/whānau/aiga. Helping them identify issues, develop coping mechanisms, and make positive changes in their lives.  We support whānau who are committed to their journey to overcome these challenges. 

ka whai koe | you will have

Experience in applying the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the way you work, being able to or open to the practice of Te Reo me ona Tikanga and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Hauora Māori concepts in the delivery of service.

  • Be eligible for membership of a professional body or working toward it.

  • experience in providing counselling services.

  • Be able to self-reflect and have an awareness of transference / counter transference.

  • Knowledge of Māori cultural practices, Iwi/Hapū structures, and health models (e.g, Te Whare Tapa Whā).

  • Great communication skills and the ability to engage with Māori and non-Māori communities.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • A current driver’s license is preferred but not essential.

$68,000 – $102,000 pa dependant on experience (NZD)
