About us

RESPECT is a specialist family violence agency based in Takapuna, Auckland. We provide support and education programmes for men, women and children affected by family violence (both victims and perpetrators of family violence). RESPECT mission “To provide quality services to reduce violence and abuse in our community" 

Tasks & responsibilities

Children Programme Manager/Clinician sought to work on the North Shore, in an employee position (34 hours/negotiable). You will be responsible for the overall operations of the children programmes. It will consist of managing your team, responsible for receiving the referrals, coordinating counsellors schedules, networking with stakeholders in the North Shore, writing quarterly, yearly reports for the Ministry of Justice, Oranga Tamariki and Ministry of Social Development. You will also be delivering psycho-educational/counselling individual/group programmes and conducting caregiver's assessments and maintain

 your own clinical caseload.

To be successful in this role, you will need an understanding of the following: 

  • Management experience in organizing a small team.

  • Experience working with individuals/group dynamics.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Risk assessment and risk management

  • The nature, dynamics and effects of family violence.

  • A commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi.

  • To have knowledge of specialist services and agencies available to support children in the North Shore.

Qualifications & experience

  • Must have a background (counselling, psychology, psychotherapy) or have work experience in the family violence sector working with children.

  • Knowledge of requirements when working with GOVT contracts.
