The Salvation Army Wellington Bridge Centre exists to provide safe, integrated, high quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. They provide a wide range of services, including a residential programme in Newtown, community-based service in Upper Hutt, case work and support to the Wellington and Porirua District Court, recovery houses that support clients in on a longer journey, and  low intensity and brief treatment programmes within Manawatū prison. These services are evidence based, well-known and recognised for being person-centred, strength-based, caring, transformative and responsive.

As a key member of the senior management team, and 2iC to the Director, the Operations Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of all aspects of the professional services delivered to tāngata, including the implementation of service improvement initiatives and  that education and training is planned and achieved through workforce development planning. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring the safe clinical and best practice and efficacy of the Bridge model of treatment is maintained across all Wellington Bridge services, and that contract deliverables are met.

You’ll provide line management and leadership to the Clinical Team Leader, which is easily accessible and visible. You’ll oversee the management of the Wellington Bridge Intake Team, ensuring that AoD admissions and assessments meet service KPIs and outcome measures.

The team at the Wellington Bridge is highly skilled, creative and innovative. Te Whatu Ora previously recognised the Wellington Bridge for Excellence in Innovation and Future Thinking, achieving consistently excellent outcomes in external audit measured against the Ngā Paerewa Standards for Health and Disability Services 2021.

This is a full time position based at the Bridge Centre in Newtown.

 

Person Profile:

  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience, with the ability to make sound clinical decisions
  • Strong leadership capabilities with proven operational management experience
  • A background in the social services / mental health / addictions sector
  • Current registration of dapaanz, ANZASW, RN or a professional body that meets the requirements of the HPCA Act
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • A collaborative approach
  • Innovative, responsive and flexible
  • Ability to think strategically, articulate and implement a vision
  • Very highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Strong relationship building and networking capabilities at all levels
  • Enthusiastic, encouraging and positive in their leadership style
