He kōrero mō te tūranga – The role:

This is a dual role in the Wāhine Team, split between the delivery of our safety services, supporting adult victims of family violence and providing social work to both victims and perpetrators of family violence. The position is providing support to all whānau engaged in our services. The purpose of the role will be to support and educate whānau to progress towards living safer lives free from violence. In addition, you will be trained and authorised in programme facilitation. To thrive in this role, you will need to be self-assured, strong-minded, and enjoy working alongside passionate professionals. Experience in trauma informed practice and child protections would be an advantage. 


He kōrero mōu – About you:

In addition to experience in social work/case management and skills in the social sector and family violence, we are seeking applicants who will fit into a team of client-focused, self-motivated professionals, who are dedicated to reducing the impact and incidence of family violence in the Bay of Plenty. 

You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in social work; and/or hold current registration or membership of the relevant professional body.

You will demonstrate a commitment to Te Ao Māori and it would be advantageous if you have an understanding of Kaupapa Māori & Mātauranga Māori. 

 

Ideally you will bring at least three years’ experience of working with whānau affected by family violence. Experience in group facilitation would also be advantageous. 

Holding a full and current driver's license along with being legally eligible and available for work in NZ are essential, as is undergoing a Police check as part of the pre-employment process.
