Tryphina House, Whangarei Women's Refuge has a full time position available in our friendly and supportive team. We are looking for applicants with experience in some or all of the following:
* Child Protection
* Family Violence
* Mental Health
* Drug and Alcohol Addictions
* Community Education
Refuge Social Worker - Qualified with current registration and practising certificate. This role will join our amazing Refuge team and has a strong practice component to ensure that safe and effective practice is continued to be maintained through the mentoring and support of the team. A caseload will form part of this exciting role. Experience working in the family violence field required, as is experience in working with high risk and complex cases.
Refuge Advocate – Qualifications and/or experience are desirable for this position but not essential.
This position requires excellent oral and written communication and computer skills.

Social work qualification at Diploma / Bachelor’s level or higher - For Social Worker Position
Relevant experience in working with clients experiencing domestic violence, mental health, and/or the disability sector, and/or addictions
Ability to relate to people of different cultures and religious backgrounds
Willingness to embrace, seek and understand specific and relevant cultural knowledge
Ability to work as part of a Team
Ability to work effectively with other Refuge Teams
Ability to network and build positive working relationships
Excellent time management and ability to prioritize needs
Ability to find creative solutions to enhance client support
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent computer skills
Reliability, honesty and a sense of humour is essential
